Sunday Afternoon on a Couch
(9/28/96)

Eyes never leaving each other
Momentary gazes that last for ages
Searching within
Glimpsing a piece of ourselves

She looks right inside me

Playful kisses scented with passion
Slow brushes of lips
Lingering, straying
Tongues twining together

She clenches her fingers wrapped in mine

Losing the past in the present
In a languid embrace
Ease rising like heat
Our legs tangling, untangling

She closes her eyes, smiles

Laying together, bodies melded
Formless, dissolved in one another
One boundless "us"
Lazing in our warmth

She dozes lightly against my chest
